New Painting

I have always loved this pitcher and have had it for years. It is, however, a bear to paint. I guess this might be due to it's asymmetrical shape. I wanted it to be the center of attention in whatever painting I finally did of it. I picked the crab apples off the tree across the street.

New Interiors Painting

Finished with this new painting. I had to complete a few things, including the wicker in the shadow of the chair. What was I thinking, painting wicker? Turn up the music and loose myself in the details. This is my first interiors painting, a new collection for my website. Hopefully this will be one of many. I enjoy doing interiors as much as still lifes. This is much larger than I usually paint, so takes quite a bit longer to finish.

Galena Comfort, I hope invokes the feeling of peace and relaxation. This room is in the home of very generous friends in Galena, Illinois. Their home is so welcoming, I feel right a home the minute I walk in the door.

Raw images

It took me awhile, but I finally figured out how to convert raw images to a format Photoshop would read. A friend Don Kalec, shot my new paintings for me in raw, per my request. Probably can't see the difference in low resolution, but it does make a big difference. You don't loose the detail in the brushstrokes.

I'm off to London tomorrow. I hope to gather some inexpensive, but oh so cool, antiques for new paintings. I will probably see some sites, as well. Never been to London, so I am very excited to go. Happy Birthday, Lois!
